Throughout the centuries, physical health and fitness were basic principles in every society’s structure. Ancient Greeks were the most famous civilization for noting the importance of physical strength, which had an immediate, positive effect on mental state. That’s why they trained the kids in order to become strong men and great warriors.
With the progression of society and the advancing technologies, we witness changes every single day in many basic principles. While this is great, as an idea should always be tested in order to prove its durability and truth, health & fitness has been diverging from what it should be. Making people better and stronger.
Unfortunately, not all of us are as consistent as we should be
People are in and out of the gym, usually, 4 months before summer eating unhealthy food, full of sugar and fat, many using all these supplements and drugs kidding themselves while never realizing the importance of such a lifestyle and its long-term benefits if done right. That’s why I feel the need to state how such a lifestyle with a solid base around health and fitness can help everyone become a better person and live their life with a purpose.
We should start them while they are young
With that being said, following the rule Start ’em Young, it is crucial that people start adapting this physical and mental state from a young age entering sports as kids and even stepping to the weight room at 15-16 years old. The New Age.
A famous example is the greatest bodybuilder of all time, movie star and ex-Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger who started training at 15 years old.
Before going any further I would like to give my definition of Health & Fitness:
”The state of being where you are at total peace with aspiring to be the best version of yourself while understanding that such a feat can be accomplished by
Eating healthy food (calorie-dense, in line with your body, nourishing)
Expressing your bodily and spiritual needs through sex, friends, parties, reading, meditating.
In general, having fun while being as physically strong and fit as you can be. That means Functional Strength, Power, Speed, Acceleration, Flexibility, Agility while being Big and Shredded.”
How to Live a Healthy Lifestyle?
I want to share with you a part of my journey that I hold deeply to my heart
Inviting you to go on this journey wouldn’t be right without offering a small part of my personal experience. Because at the end of the day that is all I can offer you completely.
In 2020, I dislocated my right shoulder while being at camp. At the time, I didn’t understand the meaning of such an injury until I dislocated my shoulder again while being at the beach that same summer and playing ball with a couple of friends of mine. If you ever had your shoulder dislocated you know the pain. The nervous strain it puts on your body, the helplessness you feel the moment your shoulder pops from its ligament, the feeling of uncertainty you have later on.
The doctor set me straight and I knew hard work was to come
When I visited the doctor he told me that I would either have surgery or join a gym and get stronger, rehabilitating my shoulder. As you probably have guessed it I chose the second option. So I started training on September 2nd of 2020. A date that is engraved in my mind.
Despite the fact that I dislocated my shoulder again in the first week of training I was back at it again the next day.
Despite my shoulder dislocation, I still wanted to get stronger
I wanted to get stronger, bigger. I wanted to heal my shoulder and become powerful. I had a purpose. I had a goal in mind and that same goal drove me to the gym every day with ferocity. As a lion attacking its prey I attacked my workouts, improving every time, making my peers wonder what the hell I was made from. I achieved my goal and that was just the beginning.
This is the result of 1 year of training & eating right and dedicating myself to the lifestyle.
The journey I embarked on changed me forever
The journey I had embarked upon, without even knowing it, would forever change me and put forward my true self. I build physical and mental strength. I obtained character and personal structure. I learned how to schedule my time, finding space to do everything that I want. I understood the importance of knowledge and the power it gives its beholder. Moreover, I acquired confidence and self-reliance, knowing that from now on I can do what I set my mind to while building an amazing body and surpassing what I thought were my limits.
How to get into training and living a healthy Lifestyle
In order to embark on this transformation journey, you will need all the help you can get. That means two things.
Gain as much knowledge and experience as possible
That includes learning how your body works and functions. The anatomy of the human body, the macronutrients of food, diet, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, vitamins. You need to learn what works for you and what doesn’t. You ought to learn how to exercise, what exercises work a particular body part, what is the proper form, different training programs, how to become stronger, how to gain weight, how to lose weight what supplements should you take for vitality, for muscle gain and so on.
To gain the knowledge you will have to ask people for advice, have a trainer if you need to, study books and researches, read magazines like Muscular Development, download seminars, watch videos of people like Elliot Hulse, and generally do all you can to know your craft.
Get professional consultation before starting any fitness or diet program
As far as PEDs goes I’m against them especially if you are a young person. PEDs should be used if you plan on becoming a professional athlete or champion in your sport, not for gaining muscle fast or getting ripped. Besides you can achieve amazing things naturally. Since I’m natural I always advise going that route. Now if you wanna use steroids it is up to you. It’s your own choice but make sure you do your research and have a doctor check up on you frequently for your blood work, hormonal system, etc.
Taking action will teach you everything
The other way you will gain knowledge is by doing the thing and gaining power. That means by working out you will learn a lot about training and exercises, becoming your own trainer. By eating right you will learn about nutrition, macro-nutrients, which foods make you feel healthy, vital, nourished, and which make you feel bloated and bad.
So what are the benefits of being healthy and fit?
The benefits you will gain from adopting the Health & Fitness Lifestyle are numerous.
As I mentioned above you will gain confidence, self-reliance, knowledge, physical and mental power. You will build a great body, feel good about yourself, be more attractive, be smarter (Read Here), have better sex, learn how to schedule your life which will help greatly when you have a business and family to take care of.
But the most important thing is who you will become. The character you will build and the tenacity you will acquire to follow your dreams and achieve your goals. Know this:
You have the ability to do great things.
It’s just a matter of how hard you are willing to work and how much you are willing to suffer. The things that matter don’t come easy.
From the weight room, I learned about fitness and health but I was taught about strength and power. Not only in the gym but in life. In my relationships, my studies, my business, and the things that I want to accomplish. The gym has taught me so many great things and has been a great teacher and a friend. A teacher who never spoke to me but was always there. Whenever I needed a way out, a place to express myself, a sanctuary. That’s why I say that the gym, and generally sports are a mirror of life.
You will fail, feel pain and frustration until you succeed
Because in training, you will fail, and you will feel the pain, and the frustration. You will hit a plateau and things might not work out. The same thing happens in life. Tough times come and go. They hit you without a warning. But as tough times, good times will come. Personal records, muscle gains, success. This mentality will transfer in any area of your life. You are strong now and you know. Whatever comes you can face it. Because you trained for it. You were broken down again and again. And you will rise and become stronger again and again. Achieve more and become better.
I am forever grateful for what has happened to me
I would like to close this article by saying that adapting a true vision about Heath & Fitness was the greatest thing that happened to me. I’m thankful I was injured and dislocated my shoulder back when I was at summer camp. Because this way I embarked on an amazing journey and created a solid base for myself.
